Maildoso alternative: Microsoft 365 and Google inboxes instead of SMTP

By Maildoso’s pages read

The first thing to know comparing these two is that they sell different kinds of mailbox. Maildoso sells SMTP mailboxes on its own servers and IPs; its Google Workspace product page currently reads "This Product Is Currently Unavailable". We sell Microsoft 365 and Google inboxes. Price per mailbox is only half the comparison.

Disclosure: we are coldemailinboxes.io, one of the two vendors compared. Every figure for Maildoso is from their own public pages, linked at the bottom.

SMTP mailboxes against Microsoft and Google

An SMTP mailbox sends from the vendor’s own mail servers, so the IP reputation behind it is the vendor’s pool. Maildoso says it runs its own servers and IPs and replaces IPs automatically. A Microsoft 365 or Google inbox sends from Microsoft’s or Google’s own infrastructure, and the recipient’s filter sees mail from that network. We have not measured a placement difference between SMTP and either platform and do not claim one. The point is that you are choosing whose network carries the mail, and that is a different decision from choosing a price.

Some sequencer features and some buyers expect a real Microsoft or Google account: OAuth connection, or a list that reads its mail on Outlook and a sender on the same platform. If that is your situation, SMTP is not a substitute. If you want raw sending volume at the lowest unit price, it may be exactly right.

What the money buys

Maildoso’s 300-mailbox tier is $225 a month, $0.75 a mailbox. At their published 15 cold sends a day, that is 4,500 sends a day, or $0.05 a month per daily email. Our Microsoft inboxes come to $0.10 per daily email ($30 for 300 a day), and Google to $0.20 ($3 for 15). On cost per send, Maildoso’s SMTP is cheaper, and it would be odd to pretend otherwise.

For 100 mailboxes the arithmetic is less clean, because their smallest tier that covers 100 is the 300-mailbox one at $225. Their custom pricing starts at $0.49 a mailbox, but the page does not say from what quantity. Here, 100 Microsoft inboxes are $30.

Domains

Maildoso’s terms say domains are registered to and managed by Maildoso for as long as they are serviced, that you may request a transfer at no cost, and that a domain is not renewed if you cancel or a payment fails. Their pricing page quotes domains at $15 a year in one place and $12 in another. With us the domain is in your name from the start, bought by you or by us for $12 once, so the sending reputation you build on it never depends on a transfer request.

Where Maildoso is the better choice

  • You want the lowest price per send and are content with SMTP.
  • You want many mailboxes per domain: they allow up to 99 and recommend 8.
  • You value a written guarantee: they publish a 30-day money-back for new users and a refund if deliverability drops below 80%.
  • You want the vendor to manage IP rotation for you.

Where we are

If you need Microsoft 365 or Google specifically, which Maildoso does not currently sell. Each Microsoft domain gets its own tenant, and the domain is yours outright. The choice between platforms is set out in Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace for cold email.

What we can show for our own sending: across 11 campaigns on these Microsoft 365 inboxes, 26,698 leads contacted produced a 1.73% bounce rate. Reply rate was 1.9% and ranged from 0% to 4.1% campaign by campaign, because replies depend on the list and the copy, which we do not supply. These are our results, not customer results, and none of it was sent on Google. The full numbers and method are published.

Maildoso alternative: FAQs

Does Maildoso sell Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace inboxes?

Not at the moment. Their Google Workspace page says the product is currently unavailable and they are not offering new Google mailboxes; their homepage sells SMTP mailboxes. We sell Microsoft 365 inboxes at $30 a month for 100 on a domain and Google at $3 an inbox.

Is Maildoso cheaper?

Per send, yes. Their 300-mailbox tier works out at $0.05 a month per daily email at 15 sends a day, against $0.10 for our Microsoft inboxes and $0.20 for Google. They are SMTP mailboxes rather than Microsoft or Google accounts, which is the trade.

Who owns the domain?

Maildoso’s terms say domains are registered to and managed by them while serviced, transferable to you on request at no cost. With us the domain is registered in your name, or you bring your own.

How many sends per day per mailbox?

Maildoso publishes up to 15 cold emails plus 80 warmup a day. We size Microsoft inboxes at 3 a day, 300 a day across the domain, and Google at 15 campaign sends a day.
